Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology (BAM)

Section Information

Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology focus on using microorganisms, cells, and biological systems to develop useful products and processes. This field connects molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, engineering, and environmental science to address needs in health, agriculture, industry, and sustainability.

Modern biotechnology combines gene editing, synthetic biology, fermentation, bioprocess engineering, and high-throughput analysis to create improved strains, optimize metabolic pathways, and develop scalable production systems. Applied microbiology explores microbial diversity, function, and interactions to harness microbes for beneficial applications.

This section will publish research articles, method papers, and reviews on microbial biotechnology, industrial fermentation, enzyme technology, environmental microbiology, genomic engineering, metabolic engineering, bio-based production, and other innovations that use microbes and biological systems for practical solutions.
