Geriatrics and Gerontology (GEG)
Section Information
Geriatrics and Gerontology focus on the clinical care, biological processes, and social aspects of aging. These fields address the physiological changes associated with aging, the prevention and management of chronic diseases in older adults, and strategies to maintain functional independence and improve quality of life.
Contemporary research in geriatrics integrates clinical medicine, pharmacology, rehabilitation, cognitive health, nutrition, and multi-morbidity management, while gerontology explores aging from biological, psychological, and social perspectives. Advances in diagnostic approaches, geriatric syndromes, long-term care models, and age-related disease mechanisms continue to shape these disciplines.
This section publishes clinical studies, research articles, reviews, and policy analyses related to geriatric care, healthy aging, chronic disease management, age-related disorders, caregiver support, and innovations that support the health and well-being of older adults.
