Gastroenterology and Hepatology focus on the structure, function, and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. These fields encompass the mechanisms of digestion, nutrient absorption, metabolic regulation, and immune responses that maintain gastrointestinal and hepatic health.
