Section Information
Hematology focuses on the study of blood, blood-forming tissues, and hematologic diseases affecting red and white blood cells, platelets, bone marrow, lymphoid tissues, and the coagulation system. It examines the physiological processes of hematopoiesis and the mechanisms underlying hematologic disorders.
Modern hematology integrates molecular biology, genetics, immunology, pathology, and clinical medicine to improve understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of hematologic conditions. Advancements in targeted therapies, stem cell transplantation, cellular therapies, and laboratory diagnostics continue to transform patient care.
