Paper and Wood – Materials Science (PMS)
Section Information
Paper and Wood – Materials Science focuses on the structure, properties, processing, and applications of wood, cellulose, lignocellulosic materials, pulp, paper, and related bio-based products. It examines how chemical composition, microstructure, and processing methods influence mechanical, thermal, chemical, and functional performance.
Modern research in this field includes wood modification, pulp and paper engineering, nanocellulose development, composite production, sustainable processing, recycling technologies, and environmental impact assessment. Advances in analytics, biorefining, chemical treatments, and material innovation continue to expand the applications of wood-based materials.
This section publishes research articles, experimental studies, reviews, and case reports addressing wood science, fiber engineering, paper technology, biomaterials development, structural performance, durability, and emerging sustainable solutions using lignocellulosic resources.
