Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
Section Information
Peripheral Vascular Disease focuses on disorders affecting the arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels outside the heart and brain. These conditions include peripheral artery disease, venous insufficiency, aneurysms, thromboembolic disease, and microvascular dysfunction. The field aims to prevent complications, restore circulation, and improve functional outcomes.
Modern research in vascular medicine includes endovascular therapy, vascular imaging, hemodynamics, biomaterials, regenerative strategies, and risk-factor modification. Advances in diagnostics such as duplex ultrasound, CT and MR angiography, intravascular imaging, and minimally invasive interventions continue to improve early detection and treatment success.
This section publishes clinical studies, research articles, reviews, and case reports related to vascular pathology, interventional treatments, limb salvage, wound care, preventive strategies, and innovations in vascular science and surgical practice.
