Soil Science (SOI)

Section Information

Soil Science focuses on the physical, chemical, biological, and mineralogical properties of soils and their role in supporting ecosystems, agriculture, and environmental processes. It examines soil formation, classification, fertility, hydrology, biogeochemical cycles, and interactions between soils and human activities.

Modern soil research includes soil health assessment, nutrient management, carbon sequestration, soil microbiology, erosion control, contamination remediation, and sustainable land management. Advances in remote sensing, analytical techniques, modeling, and soil monitoring technologies continue to improve understanding of soil systems.

This section publishes research articles, experimental studies, reviews, and case reports related to soil processes, soil–plant interactions, environmental impacts, land degradation, and innovative approaches to soil conservation and management.
