Toxicology (TOX)
Section Information
Toxicology focuses on the study of harmful effects of chemical, biological, and physical agents on living organisms. It examines exposure pathways, dose–response relationships, mechanisms of toxicity, and strategies to prevent or mitigate adverse outcomes in humans, animals, and ecosystems.
Modern toxicology research includes molecular toxicology, environmental and occupational exposures, risk assessment, regulatory science, forensic toxicology, and advancements in biomarkers and analytical methods. Innovations in computational modeling, in vitro testing, nanotoxicology, and high-throughput screening continue to refine safety evaluation.
This section publishes research articles, experimental studies, reviews, and case reports addressing toxic mechanisms, exposure assessment, safety evaluation, public health impacts, and emerging threats posed by chemicals, pollutants, drugs, and environmental contaminants.
